Is It Time to Replace My Water Heater?
Being the manager at a large commercial building is no easy task. The list of things that need doing never ends, and often gets longer. The giant aging water heater in the basement can chug along for decades without needing much attention. That is until the day there is a problem with the hot water and commercial water heater repair just made it to the top of your list of priorities.
Commercial Water Heaters Can Last For Decades
It is not uncommon for old hot water heater tanks to last between 60 and even 70 years before it needs replacing. Facility managers will often come to a job and leave without having to replace it. However, if the hot water heating system is working, there is no reason to replace it.
Although commercial water tanks last a long time, they do not last forever, and there are a great many aging hot water tanks all over the United States now. Eventually, there will come a time when a manager will have to decide to either repair the system or replace it entirely.
Here Are a Few Signs It May Be Time to Replace a Commercial Hot Water System:
Water Fails to Heat
If you start getting complaints about the water not being hot enough, that is a clear sign something is not right. The problem could range from everyday wear and tear to having to replace the system entirely.
Leaks
Keep an eye out for leaks on or around the water tanks. Even a minor one, that is seemingly inconsequential can add up over time, and result in major water damage to a building, which is a sure sign that it may be time to replace or repair it.
